Coal-based granular activated carbon has high strength, well-developed pores, large specific surface area, and especially large micropore volume, which is unique. Coal-based activated carbon has a strong adsorption capacity for organic matter in various waters, free chlorine, and harmful gases in the air. It is an excellent adsorbent for deep purification of urban drinking water, and is used to remove bacteria and toxic gases in the air. Coal-based activated carbon has a well-developed pore structure, good chemical stability and mechanical strength, and is an excellent broad-spectrum carbonaceous adsorption material. According to the different appearances, coal-based activated carbon can be mainly divided into coal-based granular activated carbon and coal-based powdered activated carbon. Granular activated carbon is further divided into coal-based shaped carbon: including columnar carbon, briquette carbon (or pressed carbon) and spherical carbon and raw coal crushed activated carbon. According to different uses, it can be divided into activated carbon for various purposes such as water purification, air purification, decolorization, solvent recovery, injection, and protection. Because of its acid, alkali and heat resistance, and the fact that granular activated carbon can be easily regenerated after adsorption saturation, activated carbon is an indispensable carbonaceous adsorption material in modern industrial production and environmental protection.

Application Areas

1. Water treatment field
Drinking water purification: remove residual chlorine, organic matter, odor and some heavy metals (such as lead and mercury) in water.

Industrial wastewater treatment:

Printing and dyeing wastewater: adsorption of dye molecules and COD (chemical oxygen demand).

Electroplating wastewater: removal of cyanide and heavy metal ions (such as chromium and cadmium).

Petrochemical wastewater: treatment of toxic substances such as benzene and phenols.

Urban sewage treatment: used for deep treatment to reduce trace pollutants in effluent.

Power plant circulating water: adsorption of corrosive substances to extend equipment life.

2. Air purification and waste gas treatment
Industrial waste gas treatment:

VOCs (volatile organic compounds): such as benzene, toluene, and xylene (common in the chemical and spraying industries).

Odor gas: hydrogen sulfide, ammonia (garbage treatment plants, sewage treatment plants).

Flue gas desulfurization and denitrification: auxiliary removal of SO2 and NOx (need to be used in conjunction with other technologies).

Indoor air purification: adsorption of formaldehyde, TVOC (decoration pollution) and smoke.
